Amazon has signed a 600 MW power purchase agreement with Skyborn Renewables, covering 61 per cent of the 976.5 MW Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea and providing the revenue certainty required to move ahead with construction. The project, located 15 km north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, will use 63 Siemens Gamesa 15 MW turbines and is backed by around EUR 3 billion in investment, with monopile foundations to be manufactured by EEW SPC in Rostock. Financial close is expected this summer and commissioning is targeted for end‑2028. For Amazon, the deal is its largest renewable energy purchase in Germany, raising its German portfolio to more than 1.3 GW across twelve projects.
