The Hesselø project is sited in the Kattegat Sea about 30 km from the coast with a minimum capacity of 800 MW, while North Sea I Mid lies roughly 20 km off Hvide Sande in the North Sea with a minimum of 1,000 MW. The two projects come with a 30-year consent and a 10-year extension option, with grid connection points reserved approximately 50 km inland. Vattenfall already operates five Danish offshore wind farms producing around 6.5 TWh annually.
