Construction of the 10 billion zloty (EUR 2.3 billion) deepwater port is underway in Świnoujście, according to Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak, making it the largest investment in the Szczecin and Świnoujście Maritime Ports Authority’s 75-year history. The facility will feature a 17-meter-deep basin and a 1.3-km quay capable of berthing two 400-meter vessels simultaneously, targeting 2 million TEU in annual capacity, and is designed for both civilian and defense use.
