RWE received EPBC approval for the 1.1 GW Theodore wind farm in Queensland, securing the final federal consent alongside previously obtained state permits. The A$3 billion project, with up to 170 turbines and a battery storage system, is targeting a 2027 construction start subject to a final investment decision, with build-out taking up to four years and projected to power around 500,000 homes, while creating up to 500 construction jobs and 25 operational roles.
