McLaughlin & Harvey has been awarded the construction contract for the new Eastern Inner Dock Quay at Maraen Port of Nigg, a GBP 30 million investment adding a 16,000 square metre heavy-duty quay with Ro-Ro capability, backed by a GBP 10 million grant from Highlands and Islands Enterprise. The quay will support operations linked to Sumitomo Electric’s HVDC cable manufacturing facility, currently under construction at the port for completion this year, and construction preparations have already begun.
