Fast-track panel releases draft decision to approve Port of Tauranga’s Stella Passage development

The draft decision proposes granting all approvals Port of Tauranga sought, subject to conditions. Port of Tauranga has two days to comment on the conditions, with other parties also given that opportunity before a final decision in early September. The development extends the Sulphur Point container berth by 385 metres in two stages and the Mount Maunganui wharves by 315 metres, converting existing cargo storage land within the port's footprint, plus associated reclamation and dredging of the passage.
