The vessel Boreas installed the first turbine on 30 May after loading towers at the port of Eemshaven in late May. The 760 MW project, located 53 km off IJmuiden, will comprise 52 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines, with seven units fitted with one red-painted blade as part of a bird collision-reduction study. Foundation installation was completed this spring, and the final batch of inter-array cables from TKF was loaded onto the cable-laying vessel Nexus in May. The wind farm is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
