The turbine, a MySE 16-260 on a tension leg platform, stands more than 307 meters tall with a 260-meter rotor sweeping 53,000 m². It was fully assembled at quayside and towed offshore in one piece to a site 136 km off Guangdong in 136 meters of water. The system is engineered for 50-year extreme typhoon events, drawing on over 3,000 typhoon-resistant turbines in operation, and features dual backup power, active yaw strategies, and redundancy for typhoon secondary landfall scenarios. Annual output is 54 GWh, avoiding roughly 35,000 tonnes of CO₂ and saving 15,000 m³ of fuel oil.
