Sif has loaded out the last of 100 monopile foundations for the 1.44 GW Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms off Poland, developed by Equinor and Polenergia. The Dutch fabricator also manufactured 100 transition pieces for the project. Heerema Marine Contractors' Thialf heavy lift vessel has been carrying out monopile installation, with first power expected next year and full operations scheduled for 2028.
The load-out completes the foundation scope weeks after Smulders shipped the projects' offshore substation jackets from Newcastle to Poland.
