Production capacity at the Gwangyang plant will increase from around 60,000 tonnes to more than 200,000 tonnes per year, with the expanded facility able to process up to 200,000 tonnes of steel into LSAW pipes from the second half of 2027. The expansion enables fabrication of monopiles, pin piles, jacket components and legs with diameters up to 13 metres, unit weights of 2,500 tonnes and lengths up to 120 metres, targeting offshore wind demand in Southeast Asia. It includes acquisition of additional production halls and land, more than doubling the production area, and will create around 200 new skilled jobs.
