The installation and burial of 21 inter-array cables totalling 28 kilometres was completed on schedule, with zero lost-time incidents over approximately 360,000 working hours, using Van Oord's cable-lay vessel Nexus under a 2024 contract. The same contractor had earlier placed all 21 monopile foundations at the site in late 2025 with its installation vessel Svanen. The 315 MW Windanker project, located northeast of Rügen in Germany’s Baltic Sea, will use 21 Siemens Gamesa 15 MW turbines and is scheduled for full commissioning in 2027, becoming Iberdrola’s third offshore wind farm in the country after Wikinger and Baltic Eagle; together, the three sites will hold a combined 1.1 GW.
