The platform, scheduled for commissioning by end‑2034, is the first to be built predominantly in Germany under the country’s new 2 GW offshore converter standard, according to 50Hertz. The offshore converter platform will be installed roughly 200 km west of Sylt, while the onshore station will be sited at a new substation near Mühlenbeck, close to Schwerin. Siemens Energy will supply transformers, converters and SF₆‑free gas‑insulated switchgear, with around 95 % of its scope delivered from German facilities; NSORe will fabricate the offshore platform mainly at Neptun Werft’s Rostock‑Warnemünde yard, with Smulders building the steel jacket foundation in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. The consortium holds a full turnkey EPC contract and a long‑term service agreement.
