Phase two involves construction of 1,450 metres of quay wall with 20 new inland shipping berths and shore power facilities west of the existing Antarctica Quay. The consortium of Van Oord, Hakkers, and De Klerk will dredge 1.4 million cubic metres of sand for land reclamation on Maasvlakte 2, enabling two-way traffic for container vessels up to 24,000 TEU. The upper quay wall section will use approximately 10,000 m³ of geopolymer concrete, cutting CO₂ emissions by roughly 50 per cent compared with conventional concrete.
