Fixed-bottom offshore wind remains at £113/MWh, floating and deep water at £271/MWh, onshore and remote island wind at £92/MWh, and solar at £75/MWh (all 2024 prices). The pot structure for AR8 separates solar and onshore wind into distinct pots, gives fixed-bottom offshore wind a dedicated pot, and combines floating with a new deep water category in Pot 4. The mechanism allowing the Energy Secretary to view the bid stack and potentially raise budgets is extended to floating and deep water technologies, but DESNZ cautioned that any increase would require highly competitive bids and a value-for-money assessment. Separate clearing prices are introduced for fixed-bottom offshore wind projects based on whether they connect in tariff zones 1–12 or 13–27.
