The document submission window for the prequalification process closed on July 23, and the Panama Canal Authority will now evaluate applicants against legal, technical, and financial requirements. The proposed 76-kilometer pipeline would transport propane, butane, and ethane at up to 2.5 million barrels per day between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts without using canal freshwater. Earlier market engagement sessions drew interest from ENEOS, Energy Transfer, ExxonMobil, Enterprise Products Partners, Chevron, Phillips 66, Targa Resources, and ONEOK. The Energy Corridor is part of the Authority’s $8.5 billion Strategic Vision 2025–2035, which also includes new container terminals on both coasts targeting 5–6 million TEUs of annual transshipment capacity.
