Ignitis Renewables' Curonian Nord project now moves towards a construction permit anticipated in 2027, following the Environmental Protection Agency of Lithuania's approval of its environmental impact assessment. The 700 MW wind farm is planned 37 kilometres off the Lithuanian coast, covering 120 square kilometres, with mitigation measures required for biodiversity and marine ecosystems. Ignitis acquired full ownership of the project last year after initially securing the site in a joint venture with Ocean Winds in Lithuania's 2023 offshore wind auction.
