Lewes-Rehoboth Canal dredging to begin in October

USACE will dredge over six miles of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal from October through March, starting at the Route 9 bridge in Lewes.

• 89,000 cubic yards of sediment to be removed
• Cottrell Contracting Corporation of Chesapeake, Virginia, awarded a $9.6 million contract
• Canal connects Delaware Bay with Rehoboth Bay
• Significant channel width likely blocked for the project duration
