JDR invested GBP 130 million in the Cambois plant, which will be the only UK facility capable of full start-to-finish manufacturing of high-voltage subsea cables. Construction began in 2022 and the site expands JDR’s capacity to supply inter-array, interconnector and export cable systems. The facility is intended to support R&D on longer delivery lengths for AC cables up to Um=300kV. This year Port of Blyth launched an expansion adding reclaimed land and quay extensions adjacent to the factory.
