Eni and TotalEnergies have taken final investment decision on the Cronos gas field, discovered in 2022 and holding more than 3 trillion cubic feet of gas in place. First gas is targeted for 2028 via four subsea wells tied back to the existing Zohr facilities in Egypt, with liquefaction at the Damietta LNG terminal for export to Europe, and production plateauing at 500 million standard cubic feet per day.
