The partners—Vattenfall, Project Enki, and ABB—intend the datacenters for long-duration, heavy computational tasks such as AI model training, using batch processing that can scale with wind availability. The facilities would consume a limited share of a wind farm’s output, foregoing a dedicated grid connection, and would use otherwise curtailed energy at pre-agreed tariffs. Seawater cooling is planned to replace fresh water and improve efficiency. The initiative is in a strategic startup phase, evaluating technical, economic, and social factors for a first site.
