Natural Resources Wales approved a marine licence for the 200 MW Llŷr 1 and 2 floating wind projects, permitting up to ten turbines 35 km off south-west Wales. Cierco holds a grid connection at Pembroke substation from 2028, but the projects are slated for the early 2030s and depend on a successful Contracts for Difference bid. The developer still requires Section 36 consent from Welsh ministers; if granted before the 20 July opening of Allocation Round 8, the arrays would become eligible to enter.
