Palm Jebel Ali project: Jan De Nul finalizes the last palm leaves and the crown

Jan De Nul is finalizing the last palm leaves and the crown of the Palm Jebel Ali artificial archipelago, protected by a crescent-shaped breakwater, on behalf of property developer Nakheel (Dubai Holding Real Estate). The company shaped 64 kilometres of shoreline — comparable to the entire Belgian coastline — by removing silted material and replenishing beaches with new sand. A final phase of ground improvement will prepare the site for construction. Nakheel has also awarded an additional assignment to widen the trunk by half a kilometre, requiring a further 10 million cubic metres of sand dredging. All works are scheduled for completion in autumn 2026.
