Iran Threatens to Go On Offensive in Strait of Hormuz if Diplomacy With US Fails

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran has shifted from defensive to "fully offensive" policy and will conduct a "timely and precise" attack to break the U.S. naval blockade if diplomacy fails. Iran demands all provisions of the June 17 MoU be implemented by Washington "within a few weeks" as a precondition for further talks — the same day the 60-day interim deal struck under that accord was to reach a final agreement. Trump, speaking to Fox News, said Iran "should put up the white flag of surrender" and threatened to "bomb the shit out of" Oman if it interferes. Separately, Iran-backed Houthis said they attacked a Saudi military ship and four escorts in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Monday.
